and like to the page

so sweetly writ

you are my Calypso

a collage of literary

fairy dust

I've absconded off with

your words

are the jewels

you pour in my eyes

like bedazzling rare gems

one pours into his lover's lap

I'm taken and taken

so smitten by all

you've written

my heart you've so

tenderly awakened

the more you draw me in

the more I mock

that silly woman in me

you earlier first met

laughing on her cool cucumber

of a whim

curiously viewing

what I thought a near to mad

yet flattering man

but you held steadfast

no pride bedecked your attempts

in offering me the you

I discovered in those deep poetic

formats

a sweet trusting steel framed caterpillar

to the eyes of the world

yet slowly unfolding its glorious

butterfly's wings

offering up its sweetness

and vulnerability to my

careful inspection

how could I remain aloof

totally untouched by that

you tapped the shoulder of a

tender woman

and I can do little else

but rise to dance this life time

with you

for I love you
