A FOOL'S RESPITE*

Folder:
JOURNAL # 37

deserving
of your love
though I may not be
still
you find the strength
deep in you
to somehow tolerate me
even when I'm being
far from petty
I'm a top notch ship
just minus her
finest sail
I speak of ego indentity
yet fall pray to
its traps almost repeatedly
and its then that you see
me begin to flail
I love you
but I'm a run of the mill fool
Love should be strong
just because it is
not weakened by worry
and pitiful lonesomeness
you are my fallible
love
just recently put in dire straits
yourself
you don't need a woman clinging
to you like some unloved child
you deserve maturity and
certainly a working quantity of
female understanding
I was petulant and selfish
truly small in my view
I saw only my emptiness
and little of what you
must be going through
I don't have any better words
to humble myself farther
a near do well poetess
only
hoping to hitch onto remorse's
own wings
and fly heart first
into 'A Fool's Respite'...................
