FOR THE NIGHTINGALE WHO FLEW WITHOUT WINGS

Folder:
JOURNAL #21

if

Tonight

soon learns

of the

innocent memories

that

Tomorrow

could hold hostage

(should she wish to)

but for

chance itself

(a seemingly motherless pride)

shall taint such vanity's waters

with a readied supply of surprise

and deliver

in its own flattering favor

a truly most unexpected out come

so to option to endeavor

a far firmer hold

upon

the vicious turnings

too tightly fisted regret

anger

shall then

in a feisty snit

breed unto fire

and take the first

of her many

haughty breaths

until

truce

emerges in exasperation

from the billowing ash

to brutally call off

all remaining bets

and such strangely

surreal slate of

so very bruised and

unaccountably upset

shall convene

without gall

but this time

on to

a much more level

playing field

a clear and open

summer's sky

where

two once, lonely

and aching hearts

are now alas permitted

to cry

but this time

together and in

immaculate joy

for the dear, dear

Nightingale

whom

even without wings

in this glorious

'Anything Is Possible'

place

is finally free at last

to fly

so know that

whether you run on ahead

or rather choose to wait for me

either which ever the divine way

I will, by the power of love alone

see you there....................
