Mangus

I've mentioned him before

he has to be one of the most

sensuous creatures God has ever

aspired to create

I just can't seem to see him here

in the right now

to tell him this very this

it doesn't seem very fair

what an unbelievable coward

have I become

this I certainly know

there is just no getting away from such

truth

you don't have to rub it in

for there are by far

too many crooked teeth to think about

besides my own lack of looks, age and

weight

I am a quarter horse tripping at the gate

so please at least forgive me this

my ever 'Ageless Cowardice'

yet just perhaps

in my next life time or the one that comes

after that

I will slip on some courage and take such

chance

but for today

I must stand firmly regrettably silent in my

miserable stance

knowing it's not yet my turn

I open my quivering outstretched hand

to gently retrieve some hopeful fonder aspect

of my former innocence

so I can better offer it one day to you

my anonymous future fellow man

and there is always much growth to be

attained

even in extended separation..............
