WARNER

JOURNAL#2

quiet and studious

hunched over your work with little time to spare

we met for a brief second

it was a moment so rare

eyes met and locked with lips fresh and wet

surreptitiously glancing across the room to where

I sat

sweet warmth pulses through my blood

the memory makes my veins utterly flood

lust, love, or simple animal magnetism afoot

to go into any real details would make the point

seem moot

so, have a wonderful love filled life my brief

30 second span lover

I shall never forget you while taking up my own

quest in looking for my significant other!

Author's Notes/Comments:

this really did happen just as I describe the event and the fellow in question's name really was Warner. I heard his boss yell and ask him something. I had taken my stereo to a work shop to get the record side of the double cassette player repaired. the fellow doing work in the adjoining room kept looking out at me like I was some kind of super model or goddess sitting out there. talk about open admiration it was my real first time for that and it was quite heady as you can read in this poem. I went home and not 3 hours after   this incident I wrote this poem about it in tribute to such monumental moment in my young life.
