RISKING THE WRITTEN WORD

Folder:
JOURNAL #20

happiness is mine

ah but alas

sweet heaven divine

all praise be ye generously given

to the great author and final finisher

of each our finest forms of free willed

faith

for with God

alone

even in silence still there is sound

as thoughts practically sing

to thee so thrillingly aloud

come

allow me to play for you

yet a new untried hope

I too often myself

tend to hide behind the more vague

columns of my own indiscriminate verse

yet when I feel at best

decidedly

I bravely step out before them

(my words)

and pluck at the strings of such sweet

sentiment

sometimes managing to sicken

why even myself

oh at times

truly I tell you

'tis but a bedraggled gift..............
