ENCHANTED BY YOUR WITHIN

kneaded near lifeless

bleeding out still

from a butchered past

the opinions you gave

spoke harshly of your ill

so much heart

hath been trampled

but there is much beauty

in those remnants

your dear poetry offers

many a sample

from out of so much

darkness

you've emerged

into so much blinding light

why, you are the tree

that after a long  bitter drought

grew fine and tall

nearly over night

and I received the honor

of witnessing such

transformation

the glory of your joy

a cornerstone of my

intense admiration

from the love found

love lost beginnings

unto a loveless middle road

taken

thrice detoured

to venture down

again you solemnly swore

no more

I happen upon you

a harmless

happy woman

enchanted by your within

perhaps God indeed did

lure me to you

via a poem about him

catching my eye

as poems never fail to do

i applauded a great and

glorious poet

and got far more than I could have

ever bargained for

in you..............................

Author's Notes/Comments:

a poetic critique of fellow post poems Poet Muhammad Naveed Ahmed's poem 'Another New Year 2002'
Should be in Journal #35 but that one is full ( the hand written one) already so am belatedly placing it here in Journal #36.
