THE TALE OF TROTTER & FLY (journal #12)

Trotter & Fly

two swanky young birds traveling together

through the warm summer sky

making faces at everyone and thing that

they flew by

laughing all the while aloud quite hysterically

in fact

yet no one else really knew why

now I say, our young Trotter fancies himself

to be a boyish bird like Elvis

in his earliest days of fame

while that rascal croaker Fly would swear he,

himself could put the King to shame

so they flew and preened swooped and leaned

to hear just the faintest notes on a local

radio station of

'Blue Suede Shoes'

for quite indeed after all

they were just

and always would be!

teenage humming birds

and as we all know

and have been taught

humming birds Can Not sing

no matter how hard they try

so they can only hum along with any song

poor, poor Trotter & Fly

true Elvis impersonators they can Never

fully be

so why ask why?.....................
