JOURNAL#2

you standing there so gorgeous and glaring
seem to be silently asking how I, your ex love
am fairing
what poor callow youth are you now preparing for
snaring
your insolent remarks read visually start me
swearing
being with you was never a simple case of
question or caring
I visually ask you
what nubile brainless succulent female are u now
seducing and scaring
if your eyes had a voice it would truly be blaring
it's funny how you and I could always read each
others thoughts through means of side long staring
and as I am thinking just this
with a wink of an eye you say
my place or yours? so devilishly daring
as if I would give you the time of day if it were
indeed to be sparing
out loud I say DROP DEAD! for to continue on at
this perverted pace for me is all too wearing....
(early 90's)

Author's Notes/Comments:

written in the early 90's excerpt from a bad romance novel I read the man and woman meet at the funeral of a mutual old friend and have this really scathing conversation at the guy's grave site the book over all wasn't that good but that opening scene at the grave where they meet after not seeing each other in years was pretty funny so I took on the personality of these two zany joke cracking star crossed lovers and wrote this poem which by the way like the old child was published in some obscure magazine or newspaper or anthology that nobody has heard of.
