SELFLESSLY DECEIVELESS

JOURNAL #22

need knows no season

I read that

on a road sign

once

Well

my needs

just so happen

to know all seasons

and some quite intimately

in fact

therein

lays

the majority of my loneliness

Ah

if only

I could not give a fruitful damn

then

perhaps

then

my eyes would not cry

my torso would not ache

to be held

my mind would not long

for a finer expressing of words

I would be

deceivelessly focused

and perhaps even

Happy

amid my one dimensional scope

with my forever not knowing

well almost

Hope can only better try

to further squander

the generous ink of this

frantic pen...............

Author's Notes/Comments:

Inspired by, of all things, a billboard along side the road I read on my way to Boone to visit a friend. it was for giving around Christmas time to the salvation army it said need knows no season and that went on like a light in my head and bam this poem was born.
