A TASTE OF AN UNHEALTHY PARTICULAR(EDITH WHARTON)

amid the strictest society's confines

such bristling gentility tends to race

passed one's own heart

it can't have been better than bearable

only just

to marry up

just for a more favorable part

in the stifling echelons

pawns them all

terrible and or small

I could never be a fan

just a curious observer

studying such aristocratic

like bug's armor

note taking even the smallest of

hairline cracks

for further future dealings

the entirity of the matter

and at such lofty levels of

well bred society is deeply shameful

truly most disturbing even

to the average outsider

looking in

The Age of Innocence

deceptive code

for

The Era of Constraint..........

Author's Notes/Comments:

inspired by a BBC adaptation of Edith Wharton's book The Buccaneers....How stifling it must have been to the women to live in such an era!
