WITTY KITTY AND BOG'S DOG (FROM jOURNAL#4)

'Witty Kitty And Bog's Dog'
were down by the river
playing leap frog
where Witty Kitty turned on her side
to voice a loud meow
as Bog's Dog pounced on her tail
returning in chorus with a loud
bow wow wow
out of the sky crashed in on the two
came a big black crow
Boston is the name he said
what do you know
he was a huge hawkish big black bird
Witty Kitty and Bog's Dog stared and said not a word
could I have from your river one small drink
asked that crafty old crow with a mighty lascivious
wink
Witty Kitty being so gentle and sweet
stepped protectively in front of bog's dog
and said, Why it would be our treat
Boston flew low to the water and drank from the limb
on which he sat parked
when Bog's Dog smelled the massive bird's aura of
danger
at him he menacingly barked

Witty Kitty became momentarily frightened so she ran
the crow then took to the air
like he was born to the wind
with his impressive black wing span
Bog's Dog quickly followed that evil crow that hunted
the cute tabby Witty Kitty
for he planned to jump up and nip that old crow in his
rump, right where he sitty
but when Bog's Dog caught up to Witty Kitty and that
mean looking old crow
he stood stock still and said to himself
Well, what do you know
for that old crow stood cowering in a clump of
towering oak trees
as that little Witty Kitty clawed and hissed at him
bringing the not so fierce now crow to his shaking
knees
Bog's Dog then called out
If I were you Mr. Crow I would close my eyes and pray
for my good friend Witty Kitty here hasn't even had
her first meal yet today
not knowing what else he could say
Boston, that black cowardice crow
simply just up and flew away
while Witty Kitty and Bog's Dog went back
to their place by the red rushing river
to once again play...........

Author's Notes/Comments:

this came to me from watching a small kitten and a puppy playing in a neighbor's back yard near a small stream a black bird landed and scared them momentarily then the kitten got ferocious and scared that bird away. It made me laugh and laugh. Looks can be deceiving and this poem formed from that brief exchange I witnessed.
