THE BETTER EVOLUTIONARY

Folder:
JOURNAL # 41

society wrote a poem about me
last night
draping my heart back
a handful of decades
I observed myself through a
kaleidoscope of painful review
my tears supplied the ink I felt
such pages writ must have indeed
needed
but there were holes left punched
out in the atmosphere
powerful chapters omitted in
the final edit
in optic overview I could ascertain
from the innumerable cocoons
this life's time intelligently gave
I broke away and fluttered free
damaged but always
'The Better Evolutionary'
as the years tiredly stack
themselves high
one upon a mindful other
I whisper no regrets
no matter what the biography of
the universe says..........

Author's Notes/Comments:

Was in a flowing creative mood and this poem just spilled out from my depths.
