So Quickly They Leave

Muddy shoes, and rainy day blues,

Bedspread is half off the bed,

Hand-printed walls, run away balls,

Painpills I need for my head,

Pocket knives, and alibis,

"Mama, I did not do it!"

Huge appetites, "Leave on the light!",

I'm crazy and always knew it.

I MISS THOSE THINGS! When my heart would sing,

And Tonka trucks all in a row,

A wipe and a blow, a bandaged big toe,

Oh where did my little boys go?

Hi Jess, I know what you mean here! I have two sons and they both live over in east texas. My oldest son Cameron, came to visit for the weekend a couple of weeks ago. We had a great time! I don't get to see him very often, but I guess that i'm pretty lucky because both of my boys call at least once a week to let me know how they are. I miss all the great times we had while they were growing up!

Peace and love ~~~~ Dougie ~~
