I Write

Writing words that rhyme or not,

Jotting phrases down,

Gives release to a crowded mind,

Filled with sights and sound.

If I couldn't write, I fear I would die

From the clutter inside my mind.

So I tell the story to strangers like me

In my silly or somber, sad rhyme.

Author's Notes/Comments:

Isn't this true of all poets??

No, actually I write to let my feelings out. And it's the only thing I'm good at, to answer your comment on your poem.

Yes, this is true of poets and others that must express themselves in some artistic manner. Release the picture and the pressure. Perhaps the pain. Create beauty from jumble.
Nicely expressed Jessica.
