My List

I made a list this morning,

Of things I love in you.

But I ran out of paper,

So I stopped with just a few...

There's the way you call me, "Baby",

And the smile that's just for me,

All those precious, sweet love letters,

And your generosity,

How you watch me when I'm busy

(Like a fox looks at a hen),

The way you tell me that I'm special,

(Hey, YOU'RE one special man.)

All the thoughtful things you notice,

That nobody did before,

How you touch me when I'm passing,

How you love me more and more,

Every time you sit and listen

While I pour out all my hurt,

How you help me sort through worries,

Never caustic, ill, or curt,

So Sweetheart,  can you wonder

That I can't comprehend?

What I ever did to have you?

My Love, My All, My Jim.

Jess, if you ever write a book about Jim, This would have to be the first poem in it. I really like this one...it reminds me of what it was like to be in love!
kind of reminds me of how I felt when I wrote my poem "Lovenote"...AHhhhhhhhh! Say-la-vie!.....
