Memories

Music was playing, the sun was shining,

I expected to have a great day.

Then the air grew cool as the shadows came,

As our old love song began to play.

That time machine, memory, took me back,

To those last days of our married life.

I saw you, the cold and roaming husband,

And me, your faithful-though-foolish wife.

I really expected to die with you,

(and at times by your own cruel hand),

But you had ideas that you persued,

Even today, I don't understand.

There's one thing for certain, if nothing else.

You're consistent and change you won't make.

You still have the power to hurt me yet,

To destroy a perfectly good day.

Ahhhhh, so oldies get to you to!

Remind me sometime to tell you of a sixteen year old girl that married a sailor.

Isn't it strange how memories can either bring great comfort or great despair.

I so enjoy my visits with you.

Love,
Lesa

something about music that has that power to take us away... ive found scents have the same mysterious ability... no matter how far the thought is from your mind the right note brings you there in a hurry...
