Goals

August 16, 1984

Today I would be stronger

Than I was when I slept.

I long to have a gentler hand,

Walk with a quieter step.

I dare not dwell on yesterday.

Its glories quickly fade.

And when I fail, it really hurts

To view the mess I've made.

Tomorrow's like a sunbeam--

It MAY shine, maybe not.

So as I see it, NOW, today,

Is all I've really got.

That's why I'll do as Jesus said,

Today, I find is dear,

When past and future I forget

And work with what is here.
