First Day of School

Folder:
School/Students

My bookbag is packed and now loaded.

My clothes have all been laid out.

The alarm is set, and I'm ready.

Tomorrow I'll wake with a shout.

As I zip down the road humming softly,

My mind will be miles up ahead.

Pre-planning and meetings don't phase me.

It's the kids coming back that I dread.

A little teacher humor here--very little.

No one ever seems to think about the teacher on the first day of school. Though the teacher, being the most important person in the classroom, is probably just as apprehensive and excited as are the students.

Great poem Jess, you bring some very real feelings to life!

Enjoyed,
Tricia

Hehehe...tis the first poem i read from u Jessica, and i'm already impressed. Simple yet so meaningful. Indeed i dread that day too...and the next...and the next...and the next...and the next...blah blahhhhh. BUt the first day stands out for the initial (read: hellish and draining) confusion. smilesz. thanxs for sharing...i can totally relate ~ On..to more.~ ;)
