Abuse

Ice cold looks

Penetrate through my heart

Your stinging glares hate me

And your harsh touch

Bruises delicate skin

Not sure at where to run

Or where to hide away

I feel and take your beatings

I take it all with shame

My eyes are black with pain

From the veils of unjust hurt

You make me feel so worthless

I feel as low as dirt

Ashamed i hide my face

Beneath my hands and tears

I take it all with courage

And hide my biggest fears

Someday i'll learn to face you

With my head held high

I'll do this all with pride

As long as i dont die

There is a tear in my eye as I read this. You have a unique ability to write down exactly what you are feeling at the exact moment that you feel it. I hurt not for you but with you.

i like this poem because i can so relate to it. i was abused by someone, who i thought loved me and cared about me, for 5 years of my life. i have lost those 5 years of my life because of him. keep the faith and things will get better.
