Diabetes

In waiting, all day everyday.
Now a third presence in our life
A notion that he's lost control
Out of mind and out of sight
And i say how hard it is for me
To love someone who hurts themself
His foolish pride, he thinks protects
But breaks my heart like nothing else.
And overwhealming in every way
Slowing stripping our love away
And my tongue tied, trying to find
The right thing to say
to support an illness that consumes
And walks beside us everyday.
