There is a star that lives

Outside my bedroom window

Often I look at it and I wonder

If it still exists

If it’s actually a planet

If it is simply waiting for my wish

A secret longing,

I’ve yet to give it

A prayer worthy of granting true-

It blinks at me,

And I think of you,

But I am too sullen to ask it to,

Give me the things I want it to.

See our story is not like in the movies,

Where the heroine get’s

All she deserves

No,No, NO,

It’s far worse.

She touches once, and she is burned.

She casts a spell and thrice she’s cursed

But still you see, I never learn,

When I look at that star

I still quietly yearn...
