I'm right here, tell me what I've done wrong?

You leave me with unanswered questions

Do I really deserve this?

I just want to hear that you love me

That I'm going to be okay,

I carry a lot, I'm scared that's all

 

Say something please

I know you're hurting too

 

You can't hide it, I see it all

You long to be desired, hoping someone will notice

I'm here, but you don't see

It's all because the one you want doesn't speak

Hiding behind late night spades and Soap Oprah’s

The regret brings you to tears

trying to pin point where dads love went wrong

 

I too stand alone in this home

Author's Notes/Comments: 

my inspiration came from just wanting to express my relationship with my mother from the past and still current now. I wanted to capture my views, emotions, and thoughts as well as my mother. My goal was to be able to show both our views and how we want the same thing but never see.

I hope i did just that and many may relate and be touced by it. Thank you so much :)

I don't..

even know where to begin to tell you how much your poem had affected me.

I guess because I can relate,

and I hope one day you are able to bring "sight" to your Mothers eyes.

There was a raw emotion to this piece...like skint knees.

Enough to burn,

and breath to cool on that exhale of an ending.
