Facing The Flames

Facing the flames

i'm unafraid

of the heat

slowley licking my face

taking me back

to the place I once came from

to my home

of centuries.

A comfort reaches my soul

as my clothes burn

and i'm free from my bindings

my past washed away

my feelings forgotten

with a name I don't need

and a heart best left alone.

Peace fills me

the heat not painful

but soothing

as I slip into it's confines

and become non-existant.
