I Love The Rain

Listen to the drops on the roof

watch it run quietly down the windows

not unlike the tears that run down my face

when I think of you.

Remember our walks down the streets

through the puddles, the rain soaking us

you would dangle fat worms in my face

and watch as i screamed before laughing.

Jumping in puddles and looking for the rainbows

rainbows that we dreamed we would one day reach

we loved those days the most.

These days those rainbows seem so far away

pale and without promise to me,

the puddles to deep to jump in

and without you that's pointless anyway.

That is something saved only for you.

But hard as I try, I can not hate the rain

for it is all that remains of my love for you.

For that I will always love the rain.

I like this poem a lot, I love the rain so much, especially night rain. Great poem.

There really is no weather better than a nice, calm rain. It's relaxing when you hear the drops collide with the roof of the house or against the pavement. That sound I imagine is the sound that my nerves make when they uncoil, with every drop that falls. Good poem. I enjoyed it.
