The Price I Paid

The price I paid for loving you

was losing my own heart

convinced me you loved me

and that we would never part.

The price I paid was by far more

then I could ever give

in this persuit of loving you

given all I can give.

The price I paid in trusting love

came when I found it wasn't there

I cried tears of pure sorrow

feeling that this wasn't fair.

The price I paid in loving you

was seeing I did not at all

mistaking us for having love

then losing it in just one fall.
