Untangle Me

One morning we went out for breakfast,

You in your perfect little pink dress,

And me in my cut offs and flip flops.

You ordered like a symphony,

Gracefully closing the menu,

A delicate smile with a "I'll take sunny side up",

Almost sounding rehearsed.

I fumbled with indecisiveness,

And finally faced the facts,

My life had been nothing like yours.

"Scrambled, I guess", I quipped.
