All Things Must Age

Time drowns me in its poison,

Mutating it flaws me further,

Darkening my mind,

Withering my soul,

Tortured eyes fading in their knowledge.

There is nothing in front of me now,

No need to drag myself along that rough ground with fingers torn and bleeding.

Just lie and let the buzzards peck at my bones.

I can no longer fight the current,

Spray blinding me,

Ice gripping me, fear killing me.

I will let go and let the liquid arms push me under

And drown here in my misery,

Safe in my self-loathing,

Safe in my self-destruction,

Safe in my non-existence.

The ending of this is perfect as it just wanes the emotion out. Beautiful poem!
