Labelling Love

Do not label love so that it may comfort your inner surroundings,

For it grows beyond the labels and the fruits it bears are resounding.

Many talk of love as a body that wanders from person to person,

Like a raging storm in the monsoon season.

We must not relate love to what the eye may perceive,

All I hear is “I must give” or “I must receive”.

For if we are to think of love in a sense of a body,

Then we are to scatter its bones in an act of sheer folly.

Love is the distilled product of an age of ambiguity,

It is that which connects you with the truth of morality.

Love is so much more than we present in our structured meetings,

For it is living after the goodbyes and centuries before the greetings.

So do not label love to accommodate a situation,

It is love which must accommodate the arrogance of a nation.
