Malicious Demon

You did it all; while giving everything you had.

The thought never crossed your adolescent mind that soon you would become another used, lustful fad.

Choosing to let your guard down and to let your kindred soul be freed;

All you ever yearned for was to be everything that they would ever need.

You were purposely blinded by intriguing magnetic eyes.

That had held promises, drowning with hundreds of crystal white lies.

Blinded from the monstrous fiend that was encompassed within the cheaters’ soul,

You fell for every faux promise and plummeted straight to the bottom of his to-do-list totem pole.

Blinders up, just like a horse about to race.

You saw them for who you thought they were; ignoring the tell-tale signs etched in their picture perfect face.

Seeing them through dazed, glistening, love struck eyes,

You didn’t dare believe it when you finally caught them in a venomous snake pit of lies.

Pondering every scenario of how it turned out so devastatingly wrong.

When everything seemed picture perfect, and had felt uncontrollably right for far too long.

The small arguments over socks that never ended in a fight,

Why did the premonitions have to prove your worst nightmare, making it all of your sight?

Laughing at the face on the moon while remembering that one terrible inside joke;

All these memories along with your heart were demolished when an atomic bomb of garnet, blue, and gold, erupted into throat rendering ebony black smoke.

Her eyes of crystal blue were soft to look at and candidly sweet;

Once believing in the perfect fairytale ending, a monster destroyed that with a sickly satisfying defeat.

Realizing just what the fiend’s intentions had been since that very first lying kiss;

She channeled her stormy energy into a poem filled with emotion and the utmost bliss.

The first month after a split is indefinitely the most pained;

Convulsions of tears, a loss of appetite, and no desire to live will cause you to be emotionally drained.

Eventually the heart wrenching pain will settle and subdue;

You just have to figure out how to lock the old memories up, and welcome the new.

Cheating souls will always be a welcomed home for a demon of the night;

So guard your heart wisely, and never travel on their one way flight.
