Whither Away

As long as we live in fear,
So will we be forever oppressed,
As long as we wait for change,
It will never come,
We need to be bold,
Courageous at the risk of death,
And content when it comes,
We need to stand, when everyone is kneeling,
And stare straight into the eyes of tyranny,
To speak aloud, when the silenced is provoked,
And sometimes not care what consequences your words have evoked,
Oh, who wants to live forever?
Who wants to simply whither away?
Death will eventually come; there is no escape,
So what would your life amount up to, if you died today?
