How do you tell someone

You like them more than a friend

When they're with someone else and happy

How do you reveal your feelings then



Is it possible to let them know

That they're on your mind day and night

What could you ever possibly say

That wouldn't also start a fight



The answer is not simple, you see

For there's too many factors to choose

You want to break it to them easy

But there's that chance that you could still lose



So it comes back to my question

How to reveal to someone you like

When they already have another

And without getting into a fight



You vow you're better than the other

Tell them they'd be happier with you

Though you may see it very clearly

To them, this may not be as true



They are quite happy where they're at now

So why should they go through this drama

What if you do break their heart

And they go crying back to mama



Now, if you haven't figured it out

To this question, there is no answer

So what, even if you are shot down

Just don't take it like you have cancer



And if they say yes, all the better

You are both much more happier now

I say to you, "Give it your best shot."

You just better stay true to that first vow.
