Comme je pense a toi

Grandad

When I think of you

I see a smile that never fades

An inquiring mind

that out thought

the quickest of intellects

A beacon of light

you shone your sunshine

into everyone you met

You left them happy and content

I see a gentleman walking amongst men

You fought against mens' melancholy

you rescued suffering souls

Your meaning in life was to protect

You fought for many worthwhile causes

always offering a gentle hand

an open mind and a benevolent smile

You had time for everyone who inclined their heads

or met your eyes

You were as a beautiful kaleidoscopic sunrise

A soul so enchanted with life

You loved your ditties and to make people smile

I can't think of a life more worthwhile

Your family were your ultimate joy

You loved them unconditionally

And they in turn adored their mentor

We'll miss a man a life so patient

You always did the right thing

You were a ministering angel

There will never be a day we don't miss your sunshine smile.

Quite touching! This tribute shoes not only a remarkable man, but an imprint he has left in the poet.

We always hope we shall make a mark in life. It seems this man has. ~Tim
