Sobriety kicks the shit out of mindless wonders

Sobriety kicks the shit out of mindless wonders

Down trodden shoeless kids on council estates mixed in with drug addicts and whores

A lethal cocktail a combination of innocence with claws

Syringes shine prettily like toys, a childs eye like a magpie just adores

The way the sun shimmers on the shiny  gem

2 year olds kick a beer bottle from one to the other

A treacherous game of football

Homes without heating, children huddled together in gangs to keep warm

Looking for paternal love from a pimp 'he beats me, he loves me really'and ' Nothing my Dad didn't do'

Ever seen a brain surgeon raised in poverty? A politician loves to play with words

Make them as shiny as the syringe

Inject you with the lies and venom just to keep him in power

Sad ladies with leather worn faces

Scrimping hard for a bob or two

Faces beaten with crow bars till unrecognisable

For their savings of a pound or two.

This is a life many have never to see

For those trussed out on society's unwanted heap

It cuts and it maims

Is it any wonder

Sobriety kicks the shit out of mindless wonders?

Author's Notes/Comments:

And we say environment is irrelevant to how we turn out? I question that.

wow, loved this, it's haunting and very political, and i agree, they say its not about where you're from, but ultimately and unjustly, it is.
nice, but when you think about it, not at all

Wow, you have said I write good rants. This is vivid and most excellent. I cannot imagine this not touching anyone who reads it.

Enviornment is the ultimate producer of despair. Sure there will be a few who aspire to greatness and possibly through sheer will power will achieve it, but for most the deck is already stacked. Cruelty, disease, poverty, and instant gratification of percieved needs at any cost will always be the way of life for some. The irony being that those who are privledged sometimes like to play with the fires, but can always find a bandage when they burn.

Getting saintly? :) ~Tim
