My heart is breaking.
Why does this hurt so much?

Why do they think it is ok
to make me feel like
less than a human being?

Why do they deny me
my hopes and desires like
I’m not worth consideration?

All I ever asked for
was to feel like someone,
like my thoughts mattered.
