Life and Death

In the midst of laughter and naiveté,
we hang our heads with
the weight of the gravity of time.

Our hearts are burdened
as we try to relive our childhood
but are forced to grow up
and face the brevity of life.

Such a juxtaposition
seeing the beauty of youth
and the grim reality of death
walking hand-in-hand.
