For a brief moment 

I saw that look in your eyes-

the feeling of betrayal.

I knew it well because

I was met with it

15 years ago when he left me.

And you don't even know what I did;

I can only imagine your face 

when you realize 

what I am capable of.

I don't know why 

you would ever forgive me;

there's something rotten 

in my soul. 

It's deep and dark

and unforgivable.
