Unholy Matrimony

Fate joins the souls of two lives:

Days are no longer the same

Nights are no longer cold

Since they hugged and embraced

In that bright sunny day

Like a great bird from the stars;

Brought a hub of activity

for me and you

And three more souls to the apex seat.

But for years now, while church bells

Call men and women for the covenant

We're never in the flock of blessed virgins.

We are a disgruntled couple, always nagging

Each other, day by day, as the world moves on;

Brood that we're not ready

To prepare a big feast, have a giant limousine

In which we shall ride in style along with

An entourage of sycophants, to a stylish reception.

On a red-covered dais,

A mobile toilet to bolster our social status..

We're lost in the ivory tower of worldly eyes.

And we stay locked from the holy sacrament

Our souls locked in unholy matrimony.

Author's Notes/Comments:

For men and women driven by conscience and religious obligations[christians, mainly catholics who holds the sacraments as a zeal of their faith], marriage is never  complete if it has not been solemnised in the church.Mainly a reminder that cohabitation is fornication[a sin].
