A Life

Wake early in the morning

Sometime pray, sometime not

For similar seem the days

Like night - or light.

Walk or commute to work

After some light breakfast

Sun on her back

Or rain soddening her hair.

Future in her arms

Memories of life to bear.

Endurance like mountain carries

Till all is set in destiny.

Watch receding humanity

Down into some obscure slope

Letting it shape up like a ball

And tie its common knot.

I enjoyed this poem. One? Because no matter, life goes on. Be it sun, be it rain. One day follows another. Two? Because it is true, we all go down the slope to become "a common knot". It is a good poem.

Thought provoking. Yet meaningful and real in its exploration of human experience. The imagery of waking up in the morning evokes the memory of new beginnings and hopeful journeys through life. Then, in the following lines, Milton captures the reality of our hopes and dreams: "Future in her arms Memories of life to bear. Endurance like mountain carries Till all is set in destiny..." Thank you so much, Milton, for giving us "A Life"! Ugonna
