I"m still all gung-ho about marching

And super into jazz

The jazz I fight to stay with

Since apparently French horns aren't jazzy

So I adapt, and learn

But I think I've started something.

I didn't mean to

Really I didn't!

Hmm?

Yeah, people sitll think I'm so smart

And I still just don't get it.

It's not like they really care

And being smart isn't everything

I'd much rather be funny

Or outgoing

Or something

Being smart doesn't help me make friends

Pardon?

No, it hasn't helped me on the romance front either

Still a dateless loser

Yeah, that's me

Silly little idea I had.  It's supposed to sound like one end of a phone conversation, someone calling up an old friend they haven't talked to in a while.
