Reclaiming Me

Let me be a different person for a day.

I'll expound upon each new exciting way to play.

I'll add some new adjectives

To the vocabulary of me

Clothes change an image,

But come attached with a price;

You can claim of wealth of words

For absolutely free.

If it is a matter of reinvention,

Then watch me defy all standards of convention.

If limits and constraints

On one's personal potential

Are widely regarded as essential,

Then let me seek the existential.

Like the shore clings to the shifting sea

I will remain steadfast to the changes in me,

And in that which cannot be contained,

I'll find parts of myself

Waiting to be reclaimed.
