Much more than just amend the mistakes

It was just another sunny, warm morning for a happy day at the deep blue ocean, surrounded with bright and colorful coral reefs. On the big calm bottomless ocean you could see the powerful sharks, huge black and white whales, grey dolphins, exotic and beautiful angelfish, small seahorses and some sponges. They gathered together on an assembly to plan the traditional weekly sea fest.  The great white shark approached to the podium to show the itinerary and asked the sea animals “what do you want for dinner?”. Other sharks said “turtles and fish”, the seahorses glanced at them and said, “we should eat corals and algae, and thus we will continue with the respect to one another”. After all the debate they all agreed to eat corals and algae.

The day they were all waiting for has finally arrived. The angelfish, seahorses and dolphins got together to gather the corals and algae for the fest. When they got to the coral reef they were amazed to see what humans had done.

All of them decided they needed to gather for a meeting at the Great Council of Seas in order to talk to Poseidon and figure out what was happening with their habitat. An angelfish asked “why are all the corals colorless?”. Poseidon answered, “Well, human beings in the outer world don´t care about this habitat and throw trash including toxic materials for you, the sea animals”. They were all stunned and they could not believe this was happening.

They needed to plan and decide what they were going to do to survive. Poseidon talked again “sea animals, I will tell you what will happen with these human actions. Soon the summer will be hotter, the winter will be colder, glaciers will melt and oceans will dry”. All the sea animals got worried and asked “what will happen our habitat and to us?” and Poseidon answered, “the water soon will become polluted and food will be hard to find”. A scared angelfish shout “we all are going to die!” Poseidon answers him “the humans will die too and it is going to be all their fault”.

As time went by, the ocean began to dry; all the algae and other sea plants were gone. Animals started to die, some of them starved to death and others ate polluted substances and died. That was how the end of the world began and that was how the human race understood, too late, that they must have done something before to stop the water pollution. Even though they create laws against water pollution, make militaries to keep guard in oceans and create a lot of aquariums, Poseidon didn’t forget them because he thought humans didn’t deserve the marine creature’s love and kindness.

One day when they were at the the now battered assembly, a killer whale speak to the marine life: “Dearest animals and plants, today is a very important day for all of us, the human beings have almost reestablished our habitats and we can now live again the same way we used to live”. All of the creatures clap and swam with excitement. But then, the great Poseidon rose to the podium and speak: “I know we all are happy but I shall destroy all what humans have done so far. I can’t give them another chance for what they have done to us, their hatred towards us and the deaths they have caused.  I hope you all can understand it”. Although they were unhappy about this, the Wise Octopus persuaded them to make a sacrifice for the greater good. The story says that after that day, no one has ever seen a fish again, much less a single human.
