This year has seen the death of me

This year has seen the end

This year has taken out my knee

And taken out my friend



This year I've been alone so much

This year I've lost my soul

This year has choked my broken heart

and crushed it into coal



This year I'm deprieved of a loving touch

It hurts to see others so very much



This year I'm not excelling

I'm just barely getting by

This year I'm not the brave hero

I'm the one who knows he'll die



When this year has come to end

I know what everyone will say

That it all started with my friend

And that I have been defeated on this day
