It's a new trend,
it's spur of a moment,
almost spontaneous these days.

Falling in love.

Oh, but it's more than that,
its the swiftness of the meet to
the 'I Do".

Many happen within
a span of a year.

From a complete stranger,
to falling head over heels
for someone you think you know.

But do you really get to know someone
in such short of time?
Shouldn't there be some serious talks
before that lasting choice is made?

When do you really see that other person
when they aren't on their best behavior,
when things aren't always going right,
when you see them for who they are on the inside?

Why the rush?
You have plenty of time to make
the right decision,
without making a foolish one.

Not basing an relationship on emotions,
and what you feel is right at that moment.

But waiting it out, and being patient,
seeing the pros and cons,
noticing the issues and problems.

Knowing where one must make sacrifices,
compromise, and knowing if that person
can do the same.

Seeking the right person,
for what you need,
not just what you want.

It's true, you don't get what you
see on TV.
You really don't want to,
because those can only exist there.

Don't be a fool,
get caught up in the moment,
and be Hallmarked.

I think taking the time to

I think taking the time to really get to know someone is a really good idea. Important to build a deep friendship first.
