Misguided Direction

Folder:
Discipline

Like a boat leaving the harbor
without a navigational chart,
I have done the unthinkable.

Before I had the facts, I put assumptions
in my head.
Deciding the verdict before the trial starts.

Without the needed information, or the words
from the author, I pass judgement.

This boat will likely crash before long.
It will never reach its destination.
The boat is condemned, lucky if it returns
to the harbor it left.

Not knowing current situations,
leads to confusion.
And before long, you know less
than you did before.

The imbecile that I am,
learned too late,
But luckily I was given
guidance and returned safely.

Author's Notes/Comments:

Making assumptions is as dangerous as walking in a minefield.
