What You're About To Say

Your voice tears the shingles off of my roof
It rips away the siding from my outer walls
All of the insulation is thrown asunder
The light hits me before I've heard the thunder

That's something I can't explain
How, what you're about to say
Already is shedding my shelter away
Leaving me naked, maybe afraid

But, I know, it's grace to me
Cause I want to hide merely when I hear you breathe
And your voice is true

The mess in my head is bathing with you
Drips of rain down through a caved-in attic loft
Is it some emotion in your lips before the words?
Right then I pause to await those droplets

It's something I can't explain
How, what you're about to say
Already is shedding my shelter away
Leaving me naked, maybe afraid

But, I know, it's grace to me
Cause I want to hide merely when I hear you breathe
And your voice is true

I can face the truth
So knock it down
This house, it's surroundings
The woods I run and hide in
The Great Wall of China
If you have to
If it stands between me
And what you have to say
Let it crumble
Blow it all away

Yea, I know, it's grace to me
Cause I want to hide merely when I hear you breathe
Though your voice is true

Your voice, it's true
What you're about to say
It's true
I know
I know it's true
