This world has become too corrupt
For love to be dominant.
People fear anything deeper
Than a handshake.
Random sex has become easier
Than telling someone you're sorry.
Being selfish has become more
Important than self-improvement,
And sympathy is a selfish form of self-gain.
The truth is a myth, and lying has become
Better than being a real person.
When did we let this world slip out of our grasp,
And when will we finally cleanse and restore
This world to it's intended beauty?

As the singer, may he rest in peace as well, Michael Jackson states in Man in the Mirror, "To make the world a better place, gotta start with the man in the mirror." This poem has spoken truth, and as I have stated from time to time... Today's world hates any form of beauty, sad to say but too many are busy tearing each other down when it use to be where we would help each other up. Thank you for sharing.
