A Rose's Fight: For Liz

Folder:
Liz

When we force our fears to hide

We bring out the little child inside

When we wish our problems away

We dread to live another day

I know that you are hurting now

And I know you?ll somehow fight this out

There?s no reason for you to cry at night

Cause you know, I know, you?ll win this fight

You?re a rose with thorns that can?t be touched

And you let others know when you?ve had enough

But now those thorns start to break apart

But a stray one stabs you in your heart

You lose your color as you die away

And your anger and fear bring you pain

You can?t grow strong when you act so weak

And you can?t look to the sky when you refuse to see

Instead of blaming the thorn you felt

You deny the truth and blame yourself

I?ve seen many roses pretty in bloom

But none will be more beautiful than you

I can be your pole and I can be your rock

But I can?t fight the fights you?ve never fought

And when your fight with the thorn begins

I know in my heart that you?re gonna win

And when people feel their fingers burn

They?ll know why rose?s thorns can hurt

They?ll know to never mess with you

Cause there?s nothing in this world that you can?t do

You?ll never have to hide what?s in your head

Cause nothing defeats a rose?s red
