At Least I Did Not Lie

I did not love you,
And although I never wished to break your heart,
It seems as though I did.
But at least I did not lie.

*
*
*

If I do not love you,
Why does it hurt so much to see you kissing her?
It seems as though I do,
But at least I did not lie.

*
*
*

I love you,
I realize this is much too late.
But now I truely do,
But at least I did not lie.

*
*
*

I had to leave your side,
It hurt to see you with anyone but me,
I said I did not love you,
I think I lied to myself.

*
*
*

I watched you kiss the bride,
And I smiled and clapped,
I love you too much to convey,
I think I lied to you.

*
*
*

Now I am sitting here writing this poem,
And I know you'll never read it.
But I lied and now I am sorry,
I lied to both of us.
