Different from the Rest

Losing sight of innocence in mankind

Striving to stay alone allows peace of mind

He frowns at my efforts to be like the rest

This burden weighs heavy, heavy on my chest

In the end, I hope to find myself free

If only this illness would let me be

Wonderful writing! I believe this to be about the pressures put upon us by modern society to conform to what IT believes to be the normality. Constrictions and labels tend to be tagged onto us daily these days. Poetry can liberate the mind as well as the spirit, and sublime, intellectual writing like yours (with a strong independent message) is in short supply.
